Selling covered calls is a popular options trading strategy, especially among investors looking to generate additional income from their stock holdings. Like any investment strategy, selling covered calls comes with its own set of risks and benefits. The benefits Income generation: The primary benefit of selling covered calls is the ability to generate income on your stock holdings. Candidates for selling covered calls Stocks with moderate growth expectations: Stocks that are expected to grow steadily but not explosively are good candidates. I prefer to sell covered calls only in companies that are investment grade (S & P rating of BBB- or better), and of course, for the most part, avoiding selling covered calls through earnings.

Chinese companies, meanwhile, have accelerated in global patent holdings in the cybersecurity sector, according to a recent Nikkei report. More reassurance to Chinese investors To be sure, while these stocks continue to rally, investors in the U.S. largely remain cautious about making any trades based on expectations ahead of the Biden-Xi talks. If anything, Chinese investors could leave Wednesday with more reassurance—which China's economy desperately needs as it struggles to make a post-pandemic recovery. Chinese investors "remain concerned that the deterioration in the bilateral political relationship could have a negative impact on the Chinese economy," Matthews investment strategist Andy Rothman said. Shaun Rein of China Market Research Group told CNBC last week that the meeting "might lower down the temperature," but that he does not expect "anything meaningful" to come from it.

REUTERS/Aly Song/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsNov 12 (Reuters) - Chinese chipmaker Yangtze Memory Technologies Co (YMTC) has filed a lawsuit against U.S. rival Micron Technology (MU.O) alleging infringement of eight of its patents. YMTC filed the lawsuit against Micron and unit Micron Consumer Products Group on Nov. 9 at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. According to the lawsuit, Micron turned to YMTC's patented technology to fend off competition from YMTC and to gain and protect market share. In May, China said Micron products failed a network security review and barred purchase of them by operators of key infrastructure. But multiple memory chips are needed to support each GPU or CPU, so making memory requires more fab space. Micron says construction in New York will begin at the end of 2024 and chip production there will start in 2027. By 1980, it was building its first fab and a year later was pumping out a revolutionarily small 64K DRAM chip. Gatzemeier, who joined as an intern in 1997, explained the two main kinds of memory: DRAM and NAND. When it comes to the biggest type of memory, DRAM, Samsung is by far the leader, followed by SK Hynix and then Micron.
